                              Sanctuary Elevation

The Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church sanctuary addition followed a two-story education wing addition completed in a previous phase. The expansion of the existing sanctuary was in response to the congregation's desire to expand the existing seating capacity and to achieve a more spacious and refined worship space. Heights within the existing space of 12 feet maximum were stepped up to more than 37 feet in height. A raised stage area with a lower ceiling was created for a small choir and music program and for the church's ministers, and it served as a counter point to the existing ceiling of which half was retained. Exterior detailing was limited to matching the previous conditions and finishes.
