This postal facility located in the Hill Country of historical Wimberley,
Texas incorporates the vernacular of the region with its use of exterior
materials. Low metal clad roofs and overhangs protect generous glass
store front windows positioned between rock veneered walls. The entry is
protected as well by a porch element of heavy wood and steel bolted
trusses supported by rock columns. This facility had one of the first
drive-up windows for stamp sales.
